Garfield Exhibits Pop Up All Over in Europe

The Kemi Art Museum (Kemi, Finland) will host a Garfield Expo beginning May 15th that runs through the summer. The exhibition is funded by the Arctic Comics Centre.

University of Applied Science's visual arts students built "Garfield's world" in this exhibition featuring more than 20 statues of paper pulp. In the three-dimensional exhibition you will see Garfield's home, complete with his beloved armchair, and of course all his pals, including Odie, Jon, and Squeak. In addition, comic strip originals and information about cartoonist Jim Davis will be on hand to educate and entertain visitors.

Finnish publisher Egmont Kustannus helped promote the event in the GARFIELD magazine.

Also, from June 3-6 the biannual Comic Salon will be held in the city of Erlangen, Germany. This is Germany's most important comic festival with a huge agenda including exhibitions, panel discussions, signing sessions, etc. Bulls Press, syndication agent for Garfield in Germany, is one of the organizers of this event.

The Garfield Show will be screened at the 26th International Festival of Animation Cinema and Comics Cartoon Club Festival taking place in Rimini, Italy, July 9-31. The Garfield Show is recognized by organizers as one of "the best 3D characters in animation."
