Garfield and Odie Stamp Issue Set at OSU
for July 16th

The United States Postal Service will be conducting the First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony for the Sunday Funnies stamps at Ohio State University. The event will be held on Friday, July 16th at 10:30 am, Performance Hall in the Ohio Union, 1739 N. High Street. Jim Davis and other cartoonists will attend the ceremony which honors Archie, Beetle Bailey, Dennis the Menace, Garfield and Odie, and Calvin and Hobbes. This marks the first time the cartoon cat has been honored by the USPS.

Ohio State University, host of the First Day Issue ceremony is home to the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, the world's largest and most comprehensive academic research facility documenting printed cartoon art. The library and museum are named in honor of Billy Ireland, who produced editorial and locally themed Sunday cartoons for the Columbus Dispatch from 1898 to 1935.
